Hello!

I am preparing for a move to Zeovit. Below is my tank profile.

. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter - 138 Gallons (Reefer 525XL)
2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter - 125 gallons
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique - no reactor
4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.) - No reactor. Refugium and occasional Phosguard
5. Are you using Ozone - No
6. Are you using UV - no
7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume) - ReefOcto 150 SSM 150gal tank rated
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels NO3 2.5PPM, PHos .07 (Hanna)
9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels ALk 7.6, Cal 420, Mg 1320
10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.) Refugium, CHaeto, Marine Pure BLock
11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.) T5, 2 Blue PLUS, 2 Actinic Plus, 3 Kessil 360WE
12. What corals do you keep - All SPS
13. Tissue color (light or dark) - Moderate - per the corals to BROWN.
14. How long has the tank been running. 6 mos
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system - Control Nutrient better than what I have. PO4 seems to wander. Better coral coloration and growth. Unexplained RTN and STN.
16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.) - RED SEA ALK/CAL/MG, Reef Energy AB, COLORS ABCD. Feed various foods.
17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.) - No real live rock. ReefRock, 100 lbs
18. Any present problems - Varying PO4. Some algae.
19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.). Unexplained RTN and STN on one at a time but rolls through tank when starting.
20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.). Hanna (Phosphorus, Alk, Calcium), Salifert Nitrate, Red Sea for trace elements and others.
21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.). Just starting Zeovit. Dosing Flatworm STOP as precaution and AcroBooster
22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.) 1.026, 79 degrees F, pH 8.0-8.3 (CO2 scrubber in use.
23. Which salt brand do you use. TRopic Marin.

Also - I have an Avast Vibe 2L reactor and starter kit arriving today to install on the system this weekend.

For in-tank flow I have 2 ICECAP 3000 gyre (mounted L&R) and 2 Apex WAV on back wall pointed forward. So tons of flow.

Also - potassium has been stable at 416 and my automatic water changes at 1.5 gallons daily amounts to about 10% per week water change.

Hi Huntindawg

First of all I would recommend to download the dosing guide from:

http://www.korallen-zucht.de/files/z..._english-1.pdf

It contains a lot of useful information and will be helpful to get a feeling for the dosage.

First start with the basics products to decrease nutrients:

1. Place 1.2 liter zeovit in a Zeo Reactor. Water flow around 125 US gallons per hour. Connect the reactor pump to a clock timer and run the reactor pump with a 3 hour on / 3 hour off / 3 hour on interval. Please make sure the zeolite is not exposed to air while the pump is switched off. Clean the material daily. Leave the zeolite 4 weeks in the filter until you do the first change out. This is the first changing interval, others could be lengthen to 6 – 8 weeks.

2. Place 0.4 liters activated carbon in a filter sock and keep it in a passive water flow in your sump, changed every 30 days. Knead the carbon daily to keep the surface clean. Most users get perfect results with korallenzucht carbon.

3. Dose 5 drops ZeoBac daily for the first 2 weeks, flowed by a 2 – 3 x weekly dosage of 5 drops each. Dose 0.45 ml ZeoStart 2 x daily (morning & evening). Dose those in front of the Zeo reactor pump while it is switched on.

Later on you could use the additional products for coral coloration. Adjust your skimmer to skim wet, keeping it clean to export as much as possible. Do a weekly water change of 5 – 10 % with a good salt.

With the system it is not recommended to use a PO4 absorber. I would recommend to remove 1/3 of the absorber if you start with zeovit, than reduce the rest over the next 6 – 8 weeks step by step to zero. If this is done keep a eye on the PO4 level which should not increase.

When starting ZeoVit stop dosing the Reef Energy supplements also the coral food. I would also recommend to remove the Marine Pure Block in about 4 – 5 weeks if the PO4 level does not increase while the transfer. If you like to you can continue to dose Flatworm Stop as precaution but at the moment lets stop to dose Coral Booster also.

Basic water parameters looking good, try to keep them as stabile as possible close the NSW in the following ranges:

KH 6.5 – 7.5
Ca 400 – 420 mg
Mg 1250 – 1300 mg
K+ ~ 380 mg

This is a start-up dosage which might have to be adjusted later.

G.Alexander

Thank you. At present there is no other phosphate absorber in the system. I only use that when it starts to climb but it has been stable around this level for a couple weeks.

So I understand for a conversion tank we use 3 hours on and 3 off. At what point do I take that up? And what do I take it to from the 3 on and 3 off?

I would recommend to use the interval for the transition, about 2 weeks after the first ZeoVit exchange you can switch the reactor to continuous flow if all corals are doing fine.
