Default Upgraded Tank - Restart ZeoVit

1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter
~190 US Gallons
2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter
~170 US Gallons
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique
4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)
5. Are you using Ozone
6. Are you using UV
7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)
Vertex Omega 150 (rated 150G)
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
PO4 = 0 and NO3 = 0
9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels
CA = 420, ALK = 6.8, MG = 1275
10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.)
2 * EcoTech Radion XR30w Pro Gen3 LED (Currently setup on the Coral - LPS template)
12. What corals do you keep
Candy Cane, Hammer Coral, Frogspawn and some button Polyps
13. Tissue color (light or dark)
14. How long has the tank been running
Cycled for 7 weeks, stocked for about 1 week. I moved most items over from a 60 Gallon tank that had been running for about 6/7 years.
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system
I used Zeovit in the past about 5 year ago... Liked the results!
However after moving the 60 Gallon tank to a new house was unable to get the Zeovit reactor back into sump due to different stand and discontinued ZeoVit system

16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.)
I have dosed Calcium to get back up to 420 region (went down to 390 and used Aquaforest Calcium to get back up) and currently working on getting ALK higher (ALK was down to 6.4 using Kent SuperBuffer DKH)
17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.)
Just bought 50lbs new (already cycled), and about 80lbs that is 7 years old
18. Any present problems
19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.)
20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.)
Salifert for most and ELOS for others. CA, MG, ALK all new Salifert (within last 2 months, others are old ELOS test kits for PO4 and NO3)
21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.)
Currently no dosing other than previously mentioned CA and ALK
22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.)
Salinity = 1.025, Temp Range 78 - 79, PH ~ 8.13
23. Which salt brand do you use

Place 1.6 liter zeovit in a Zeo Reactor. Water flow around 170 US gallons per hour. Connect the reactor pump to a clock timer and run the reactor pump with a 3 hour on / 3 hour off / 3 hour on interval. Please make sure the zeolite is not exposed to air while the pump is switched off. Clean the material daily. Leave the zeolite 4 weeks in the filter until you do the first change out. This is the first changing interval, others could be lengthen to 6 – 8 weeks.

Place 0.6 liters activated carbon in a filter sock and keep it in a passive water flow in your sump, changed every 30 days. Knead the carbon daily to keep the surface clean. Most users get perfect results with korallenzucht carbon.

Dose 6 drops ZeoBac daily for the first 2 weeks, flowed by a 2 – 3 x weekly dosage of 6 drops. Dose 0.6 ml ZeoStart 2 x daily (morning & evening). Dose those in front of the Zeo reactor pump while it is switched on.

Later on you could use the additional products for coral coloration. Adjust your skimmer to skim wet, keeping it clean to export as much as possible. Do a weekly water change of 5 – 10 % with a good salt.

Basic water parameters looking good, try to keep them as stabile as possible close the NSW in the following ranges:

KH 6.5 – 7.5
Ca 400 – 420 mg
Mg 1250 – 1300 mg
K+ ~ 380 mg

For a nutrient poor environment K+ (potassium) seems to be a important element. I would recommend you to get a test kit for this element also, posting your results.

This is a start-up dosage which might have to be adjusted later.

If you plan to add further live / dry rock make sure that the new material does not leach PO4 and just add it slowly step by step.

Results using an older Korallen-Zucht Potassium Test Kit showed about 370 ppm. So I added some Pohl's K-Balance Potassium Concentrate as per instructions on bottle!

I believe I used Coral Snow, Sponge Power, ZEOfood and Coral Vitalizer after initial setup of ZeoVit. Do to being in a remote location wondering if I should be looking at ordering the same solutions or hold off for a while?

Thanks again for your help G. Alexander!

My thoughts can actually buy them together, don't forget that there are kz activated carbon, kz zeolite, probably bak, start3, sponge power, cv, aa, xtra, bb, kb, coral snow, bio mate, PIF , unopened will not affect too much, put them in the dark place, the temperature should not be too high to save it.

At the moment I would recommend to just add 6 drops SpongePower to your dosing regimen if you already have this product. The others can be used later.
