Default Live sand and cyano

Hi Ive been using zeovit for about 2 years and I cant get rid of the cyano. I just recently read that the live sand can be the reason. Does anybody have tips on how to replace the live sand and how deep of a sand bed to use for the new dead sand? Will the tank crash if I replace everything at once? Will it recycle if I do this? I also have a wrasse that sleeps in the sand at night is there an issue if I have a deep bed? Thanks in advance for your help.

A one-time replacement of sand may affect biology, and if it can be 1/3 or 1/4 a week, it might be a good choice. As for the way you ask, I have no experience (sorry) maybe others can provide better opinions. New sand soak them in Ro water and replace the water several times until the PO4 is not measured

The problem of cyano may need to be removed and understood from the source. It is difficult to relapse after the new sand is replaced next time.

If you like Zeo Coral Snow is a good choice, reduce feeding, reduce nutrient supplements, siphon vacuum sand cleaning, WC, Skimmer more wet, good water circulation

*It may be better if the animal can be temporarily removed from the tank first.(sorry, no experience)
* Kz system does not recommend the use of live sand

When DSB was a thing in 2000's people often stirred up the sand and would cause they're whole tanks to crash. I would leave it alone

Cyano is a problem in all zeovit tanks. kz Thomas Phol uses coral snow on the daily to overcome this. I would buy a big 1000ml bottle and double dose it a few times and use it everyday.

You can also try cyano clean and a balance

I never had issues with cyanos and I know many tanks which never had them running full zeovit so it is not a basic problem. The combination of live sand and zeovit seems to cause those constant cyano growth, most get rid of the problem after replacing the sand with dry aragonite.

As Jacky said it would be the best to replace the sand in 3 or 4 steps over a couple of weeks. Make sure to soak the fresh material well in RO water before using it. If the sand is replaced in steps usually no problems are caused from the replacement.
