Default Noob with a cycling question

Hello All,
I am a new member from Colorado. I plan on doing a 14 day Zeo cycle for my new 20g IM penninsula reef tank. Does the live rock need to be
cured first? I'm getting 20 lbs fro Gulf Live Rock. Can I start the Zeo 14 day with this rock as is or cure first?- thanks!

Yes, no problem, KZ system recommends using live rock 10%. Congratulations on having a new tank, I look forward to sharing with you.

Thank you! So no need to cure first. What exactly the 10% number represent?
10% of rock added, or?- thanks

@So I don't need to heal first, sorry that my English is not good, I don't know much about it. Do you mean "quarantine"?

It should mean 10% of the amount of clean water. Usually % is not a problem, bringing a part of the sea into the tank, it would be more appropriate to use a fresh and good live rock.

I mean just adding the live rock immediately and letting it cycle/cure in the tank, or curing it first for a couple week, then adding and starting 14 day cycle.

Here you can find a step by step guide for the 14 day cycle method:

If the live rock are really fresh and have a good quality no further handling is usually necessary.

Default Water changes with 14 day cycle?

Should I do any water changes during the 14 day cycle? I'm on day 3. Tank is crystal clear already with no ammonia, nitrite, and minimal nitrate.

16 gal. water volume.

No, you should not change the water. Let us continue the 14-day journey.

This is an interesting question, let me try to answer you when there is an animal (stable water quality as early as possible), and in the days to come (coral will grow)
