Default Starting up a new system w/zeovit

I have been reading up on the Zeovit system and I want to give it a try. I read the 14 day start up. One question I have is do I use Zeofood with the initial startup of Zeovit. In14 day start up it doesn't mention Zeofood but on the FAQ it talks about Zeofood being one of the core 4 products to use. On the 14 day startup guide it talks about Zeosponge. Just need to know which one to use.

If it is a new system without animals I would recommend you to use the following method for the cycle:

http://www.zeovit.com/forums/showpos...60&postcount=7

SpongePower has a positive impact to the biology as a side effect which is the reason to use it while the cycle. ZeoFood should not be used at this stage, you can use it later once if the system runs nutrient poor stabile to fine tune coral coloration if necessary.

The 14 day cycle is just sponge power, zeobak, and zeostart. That's it. I just did it on my latest build and my water has never been this clear

Good day, I am on day 4 of starting a new tank with Zeovit system. A few questions I have, is it necessary to utilize the 3hr on 3hr off method for the reactor? Can you explain the logic behind that? When should I start using carbon? There are some conflicting instructions on here concerning when to start carbon. One article says start on day 1 the other say start on day 14.

The interval does speed down the environment changes if one does transfer his system to zeovit which is already stocked, this is helpful for the transfer to support the corals.

For a fresh system without animals the reactor should run 24x7 from the beginning.

You can add the carbon from the beginning or a couple of days later, I have never seen any difference.

I ran the reactor 24/7 and added carbon as soon as I added livestock

I have an Avast Vibe (auto reactor). How long should it run each day? Right now it runs twice a day for 1 min each. Is that sufficient?

I have no experience with the reactor but 30 to 60 seconds 4 times / day should be fine.

Today I put two corals into the tank. A birds nest and a monti cap. My parameters are 8.6 dkh/ 480 Ca/ 7.9 PH/ 1.026/ N03 2.5/ po4, forgot I'll check tomorrow. What do you recommend I use to feed them? Here are a few pics.

At the moment no additional product sbeside the basics are necessary. Lets see how the corals are doing over the next couple of weeks. KH is a little bit high, let it drop to ~ 7 – 7.5 slowly.

Will do. Everywhere I have read over the past few days suggest having kh in the 8.0 to 9 range. Is the 7.5 range due to it being a low nutrient system? By the the way phosphates are .02 ppms with low range Hanna checker
