Hello Keith, sounds good but I would recommend to wait until PO4 and NO3 is down again before adding additional corals. Are both level still the same as posted a couple of days ago or are they going down slowly already ?

Please also check if the water flow of your Zeovit reactor is adequate for the Zeovit quantity you use.

Than I do not see any problem to add a couple of additional corals to see how they are doing. The dosing regimen can be adopted later depending to the corals.

Lets continue to dose Flatworm for some time daily, than change it to 2 x weekly.

Dose ZeoBac 2 x weekly also.

You can add 1 drop ZeoFood / 25 US gallons 2 x weekly to your dosing regimen if you like to if corals tissue has started to become lighter, otherwise it is better to wait.

The Mg and the Ca level are relative high, have you already tried to cross check salinity with a different, accurate instrument to make sure your is working well ? The elevated levels are often a indicator for high salinity but it can also be a test issue.

G.,
Good call. My salinity crept up to 10.26. Just a little high.
When should I replace my Zeo rock and carbon?

You can replace 90% of the material if the first 2 weeks have passed. Next exchange will be about 6 weeks later. Dose ZeoBac daily for 10 days after each ZeoVit exchange, all other dosing should stay the same.

Carbon if passively flown should be replace every 4 weeks but not at the same time as the ZeoVit material. A couple of days sooner or later is working well.

Do not decrease the salinity to quick.

Default Corals and tank doing well

G.,
I am happy to say that after about a month or so all green hair algae is gone from the main tank.. However, I keep having to take the live rock out and scrub Xyneia off ever other week. This is not so bad and they Xynia are under some control.
The old corals are also doing excellent. I put a few new corals in the tank on a frag rack and they seem to be OK. I will attach them to some live rock this weekend and see how they do.
My water seems a bit cloudy. I have been using the coral snow and it seems to take longer and longer to clear up. Now the water is not as clear as it was, but corals seem to be liking it. Should I lessen the coral snow?
Here is my dosing as of now:
Mon-10ml coral snow,10ml flatworm stop, 2ml ZeoStart, 10 drops coralbac
Tue-10ml coral snow, 2ml ZeoStart, 10 drops coral food
Wed - 10ml coral snow, 2ml ZeoStart,
Thur -10ml coral snow,10ml flatworm stop, 2ml ZeoStart, 10 drops coralbac
Fri -10ml coral snow, 2ml ZeoStart, 10 drops coral food
Sat -10ml coral snow, 2ml ZeoStart,
Sun -10ml coral snow, 2ml ZeoStart,
Thanks G.!

Hello Keith, if the alae have all gone you can reduce Coral Snow again.

This might be a good dosing regimen for your system now:

ZeoStart – 1 ml 2 x daily
ZeoBac – 10 drops 2 x weekly
ZeoFood – 10 drops 2 x weekly
FlatwormStop – 10 ml once or twice per week if you do not treat flatworms

Default Coral snow

OK, I pretty much have that line up with dosing, just a little less with the coral snow... Tank is really looking great. Thank you so much.

Hey G.,
My phosphates are still a little high - .02-.12 depending upon feeding and me changing GFO. I had good luck with All In One Biopellets to keep phosphates in check. Can I run them in with the Zeovite system?

Hi Keith, I would think the big changes of the test result within a short period is any kind of a test problem. If you use a photometer make sure that the glass for the water sample is really clean without any kind of fingerprints etc.

Usually you should be able to keep nutrients under control with the system. Mixing different systems / methods does usually not work very well.

I use a Hanna checker and I keep the glass pretty clean. I go in with a paper towel to clean it out. I guess I will keep using GFO
