It's been a while but as of today tank is doing awesome but this weekend we will be going thru Hurricane Irma in FL. We will most probably lose power. I have battery backup from ecotech for the MP10 for 72hrs and just got a battery operated air pump as well. I know temp will rise without AC. I should definitely not dose during outage and resume when power goes back (if nothing is dying)?! Your thoughts?

Keep my fingers crossed that the storm will pass through without damage. If you will loose power it is the most important thing to keep the water movement and if the power outage takes longer the skimmer. Might be a good idea to stop dosing until the power is back.

If you do not have the lights running the temperature in the tank should not rise much.

Default Zeovit 14 days cycle red sea reefer 250

Thank you. Made it thru the hurricane! Tank was running on batteries and oxygen pump for 6 days with no damages. TG. I am back to measuring levels and are as follow:
- ULR PHO4 @0.09 (at 0 before power outage)
- no nitrates
- dK @7.7
- Ca @ 525
- Mg @ 1600

I haven't tested K yet.
Doing 8g water change tomorrow (first time). I am trying to bring Ca and Mg lower. Corals are doing great. Haven't been dosing other supplements yet. Carbon is still in and I should probably change 50% of the zeolites. Should I dose Zeobak daily for a week for the phosphates since I didn't dose anything for 6 days... thank you!

Today I have experienced RTN in one acropora colony. 3 foundations seem to be stable and in line. What could be the cause beside Alk swings? Should remove it? Drag it and dip the frags? I havent dose any other zeo products but only the basic 4. Please advise.
I have changed zeo carbon yesterday but the RTN occurred before. Thanks!

The standard parameters of your system are all very high which is common for a high salinity. Do you have a chance to cross check salinity with a different, accurate instrument just to rule this out ? Also a low K+ level can be the reason beside many other issues. Please also check if the flow of your ZeoVit reactor is as recommended and not to high. If the TN does not stop you can additional try to reduce the reactor flow to 2/3 temporary.

It has been a while since I had a chance to post a tank progress update. System has been very stable for a while and experiencing amazing SPS and LPS growth. SPS have been encrusting very well to the Live Rock. Water is sparking clear and everything is thriving. Very impressed with the zeovit results. Now that the colors have started to fade on some SPS I would like to tweak the colors (blue and red). I have started to dose coral vitalizer, coral booster, K and B balance. What is the best supplement to get the blues? Thanks,

Glad to hear everything works well ! If blue is a issue a low K+ level is a common reason, if that is not the case usually Iodine does help.

Thank you. I just tested and K is at 410 right now (red sea test) I should probably test iodine and see where the tank is at. Let you know. I won’t dose K since the level is okay.

You can save the money for a iodine test, this element is not very stabile and usually not really easy to measure in saltwater. I would recommend to dose the element for a while and observe if blue does increase. Which kind of iodine supplement do you plan to use ?
