The D70 shutter speed is not much slower then my D100, I have never noticed a problem with this. Nor has my uncle that has been shooting for 40+ yrs, he is a photographer for a news paper and does some Sports Illustrated from time to time of the Indy 500, and sporting events in Indianapolis. He got a D70 and LOVES it, he said the his D2H is just amazing but your looking at 3k for body only . But he said shutter lag is not even noticeable between the 2 for anything he shoots, he is shooting cars go by at over 200 mph so I think you will be ok for fish

Nikon just released a new D40 and D40X. The D40X is 10MP looks like a great camera. Has the look and feel of the D50 with the tech of the D80. Should be in stores in May.
Should also be priced well

Many thanks for all the help guys: Settled on the Caon 350d in the end because the pic quality is just as good as the 400d for $$$$$less, and the Canon 100mm macro - will post up the results when I learn to use it.

Thanks again

Simon
