I would recommend you to continue as follows:

1. Place 0.8 liter zeovit in a Zeo Reactor. Water flow around 90 US gallons per hour. Connect the reactor pump to a clock timer and run the reactor pump with a 3 hour on / 3 hour off / 3 hour on interval. Please make sure the zeolite is not exposed to air while the pump is switched off. Clean the material daily. Leave the zeolite 4 weeks in the filter until you do the first change out. This is the first changing interval, others could be lengthen to 6 – 8 weeks.

2. Place 0.3 liters activated carbon in a filter sock and keep it in a passive water flow in your sump, changed every 30 days. Knead the carbon daily to keep the surface clean. Most users get perfect results with korallenzucht carbon.

3. Dose 3 drops ZeoBac daily for the first 2 weeks, flowed by a 2 – 3 x weekly dosage of 3 drops. Dose 0.33 ml ZeoStart 2 x daily (morning & evening). Dose those in front of the Zeo reactor pump while it is switched on. ZeoFood can be used later once the system does run nutrient poor stabile.

Later on you could also use the additional products for coral coloration. Adjust your skimmer to skim wet, keeping it clean to export as much as possible. Do a weekly water change of 5 – 10 % with a good salt.

Keep the basic water parameters as stabile as possible close the NSW in the following ranges:

KH 6.5 – 7.5
Ca 400 – 420 mg
Mg 1250 – 1300 mg
K+ ~ 380 mg

For a nutrient poor environment K+ (potassium) seems to be a important element. I would recommend you to get a test kit for this element also, posting your results.

Your initial ZeoStart dosage was to high, hopefully this will not cause issues with your corals, lets continue as described above with the dosage. Usually you can switch the reactor to continuous flow about 2 weeks after the first ZeoVit exchange if all corals are doing fine.

This is a start-up dosage which might have to be adjusted later.

Hello,
It's been about two weeks, thank you for the initial information.
What should I be doing next?

If everything works well I would recommend to continue as planned.

Cool, how long should I keep this dosage for. The only reason I ask is that the blue bottles say once per week.

Continue dosing as follows:

ZeoBac – 3 drops 2 – 3 x weekly
ZeoStart – 0,33 ml 2 x daily

Around week 4 replace 90% of the ZeoVit material. After each replacement dose ZeoBac daily for 10 days, than cut back to 2 x weekly until the next exchange. Dosage for ZeoStart does not need to be changed.

thank you, changing media today: as far as zeobac, should I do the dosage on the blue bottle?
Also, what about the carbon at this point: it's been about 30 days

Dose ZeoBac @ 1 drop / 25 US gallons daily after each ZeoVit exchange, otherwise 2 x weekly.

Replacing the ZeoVit material and the carbon at the same time is not recommended. Lets wait another week before replacing the carbon.

This happen cause changing zeolites and carbon remove big chunk of the bacteria population at once. Zeolite and carbon have big surface area that is populated with bacteria along side your rocks. Until your system is well established avoid changing both at the same time. Leave a week between them and do continoise 7 to 10 days an dosing after every zeolite change.
Do not worry about the mini cycle it will pass. Make sure you dose zb gor continoise 10 days every zeolite change.

ZeoBac is dosed daily after each ZeoVit exchange for 10 days, otherwise 2 – 3 x weekly.

Can you please post your actual dosing regimen and the actual PO4 level (high sensitive test kit or photometer) ?

Cynoclean- 4 drops Daily
