Default Possible algae growth on rocks

Anyone have an idea what this might be and how to clean it off? Some type of algae? It's growing all over the rocks, not easily blown away with a turkey baster. Tank has been setup for about 1+ year.

I'll post more tank specs and dosing schedule later tonight. Just wanted to see if anyone recognized it off-hand.

30 gallon tank. ~15 gallon total water volume.
As of this morning:
Alk: 6.5 dKH
Ca: 420
Mag: 1425
Nitrate: ~2-5 ppm
Phosphate: 0.021 (Hannah ULR)
K: 420
pH: 8.04

I was thinking excess mulm might be a possibility. However, there are tiny air bubbles that are present during the light period. Air bubbles go away when the lights are off. I'll try to get a picture of the bubbles from another angle.

Thank you for the advice.

I've been dosing all the products for the past couple of months and did notice increased polyp extension and nothing died...yet. Figure I'm doing something right. Maybe @G.Alexander will change the dosing amounts.

I may try increasing the frequency of Bio-Mate to see if that has any effect.

G.Alexander

It's a brown hair-like consistency.

I have 2 turbo snails, 2 Trochus snails, and a blue tuxedo urchin (Mespilia globulus) that don't eat any of it.

It forms air bubbles like the ones pictured during the day, then the bubbles gradually disappear after lights out and gone during the night. Then, bubbles slowly reappear as the lights come on.

I was afraid of that. But, it's weird that none of my snails are dead and whatever it is is only localized to the rocks. Sand bed is clean. I guess I need to get my hands on a microscope.

Either way, what's the best way to combat dinos while running then ZEOvit method?

Best way I did was scrub rock and water change daily for over a week, you need to reduce Dino population so a other biology can dominate, this is what I did for my tank and is not the case for others, maybe ask g.alaxander but it might be worth stopping dosing apart from the basics to see if that helps.good look

Thank you!

Sounds like a plan. I'm going to try and grab a cheap microscope to get a definitive answer before committing to all that work. Just thinking about doing all that gives me anxiety. :P

I'll dose just the basics for now to see if that makes any difference. Maybe add Bio-Mate more frequently to out compete the dinos, as you said.

I would additional recommend to stop dosing the “coloration” elements for some time, also amino acids.

Thank you, @G.Alexander.

Besides dosing the basics (bak, start 3, Sponge Power), I also have the following. Would dosing any of these help additionally?

CyanoClean
Bio-Mate
Coral Snow Plus
ZEOzym
A-Balance
