Default Converting 1 year old tank to zeo

Hi All
I currently am running a 73 gallon tank on Ati essentials.And dosing Redsea Nopox for nitrate and phosphate removal I also have 10 ltr of siporax in my sump I have not done a water change for 3 months and my tank looks pretty good. It's a mixed sps / lips reef.i now feel that I would like to convert my tank to zeovit and would like to know what would be the best way to go about this ? I have used a few zeo products in the past ie coral snow / coral vitaliser/ sponge power and the amino acids but have never run a zeolite reactor in any of my tanks.
Total system volume = 73 gallon
SG=26
KH=7.7
CAL=450
MG=1500+ on salifert test kit
Po4=0.00 on hannah checker
No3=5 ppm on salifert kit
My mag is high I did run triton prior to the Ati and this sent my mag high and I have not seemed to be able to drop it since I have done some water changes. With tropic marin pro reef but found that the pro reef was high in mag so that did not reduce the mag at all .
Hope this makes sense
Cheers all kar

It would be great if you could post some more details about your system:

Hello Karl, thank you for the additional details. I would recommend you to start as follows:

First of all I would recommend to download the dosing guide from:

http://www.korallen-zucht.de/files/z..._english-1.pdf

It contains a lot of useful information and will be helpful to get a feeling for the dosage.

First start with the basics products to decrease nutrients:

1. Place 0.6 liter zeovit in a Zeo Reactor. Water flow around 250 liters per hour. Connect the reactor pump to a clock timer and run the reactor pump with a 3 hour on / 3 hour off / 3 hour on interval. Please make sure the zeolite is not exposed to air while the pump is switched off. Clean the material daily. Leave the zeolite 4 weeks in the filter until you do the first change out. This is the first changing interval, others could be lengthen to 6 8 weeks.

2. Place 0.25 liters activated carbon in a filter sock and keep it in a passive water flow in your sump, changed every 30 days. Knead the carbon daily to keep the surface clean. Most users get perfect results with korallenzucht carbon.

3. Dose 3 drops ZeoBac daily for the first 2 weeks, flowed by a 2 x weekly dosage of 3 drops. Dose 0.25 ml ZeoStart 2 x daily (morning & evening). Dose those in front of the Zeo reactor pump while it is switched on. If you already have SpongePower you can dose 3 drops every other day additional.

Later on you could use the additional products for coral coloration. Adjust your skimmer to skim wet, keeping it clean to export as much as possible. Do a weekly water change of 5 10 % with a good salt.

Basic water parameters are not 100% ideal, try to slowly adjust them and keep them as stabile as possible close the NSW in the following ranges:

KH 6.5 7.5
Ca 400 420 mg
Mg 1250 1300 mg
K+ ~ 380 mg

For a nutrient poor environment K+ (potassium) seems to be a important element. I would recommend you to get a test kit for this element also, posting your results.

At the moment keep the Siporax as it is, you might remove it later step by step. Also if you start using ZeoVit reduce the NoPox addition to 50%, than slowly reduce the quantity step by step to zero over the next 4 6 weeks. If you dose additional trace elements or coral food stop dosing them temporary also.

This is a start-up dosage which might have to be adjusted later.

Hi All
Tested my potassium as you mentioned and it is 370ppm I have ordered my Zeovit starter kit .Do you think I should also order some k balance to raise my potasium level ? I do have a green plating Monticello that seem to be really growing and a little pale so this could be the cause do you think.
Many thanks karl

If the potassium level is 370 mg already the level is fine but it should not decrease so testing regular makes sense. If the level decreases furthermore it makes sense to dose some K-Balance Strong additional.
