Have you already done the first ZeoVit exchange ? Are your corals doing fine and ? Please also post the actual PO4 and NO3 levels.

Hi G, I've done the exchange and my corals are generally fine. My No3 is 10ppm and Po4 is 0.227ppm.

About 2 weeks after the first ZeoVit exchange you can switch your reactor to continuous flow if you have running it with the 3 hour on /off interval when all your corals are doing fine. Please also keep in mind to dose ZeoBac daily for 10 days after each ZeoVit exchange.

Wow its been 3 Mths since I started Zeovit and I must say my nutrients have really gone down. However, Im still fighting Cyanobacteria issue, and so far have lost all my torches except an Aussie Gold torch (thats a total of 4 torches with a combined total of 18 heads). Ive also lost my hammers. My Zoas and acans have survived so for that Im Glad, but how do I know if Im ready to add SPS? Heres my values at last measurement:
Ca 420
Kh 6.9
Mg 1250
K 370 (Ive started dosing but have not measured since)
No3 5ppm
Po4 0.1ppm

Sorry to hear about the looses. Can you please update your actual dosing regimen and tell if you have switched the reactor to continuous flow already ? Are the cyanos massive or do they just grow here and there in smaller patches ? Which kind of sand have you used and does your TDS meter shows a reading of zero for the RO water ?

Hi G, thanks for the reply. I now dose 1 drop of zeobak and 0.2 ml of zeostart as well as 2 drops of zeofood. My reactor has switched to continuous flow already. The cyano is now at an outbreak stage and is even smothering some of my Zoas. It covers most of the rock unless I blow it off, and also the sand. I use the Caribsea live black sand and my TDS is at 0.

Should I resume my cyanoclean and zeozym regime then?

I would try to do a treatment with CyanoClean and CoralSnow, if this does not help the live sand might be the issues. We have many members reported that they have constant algae / cyano issues while using a combination of live sand and zeovit. Once the sand was replaced with dry material the issues have gone. Just something to keep in mind. While having cyanos I would additional recommend to stop dosing ZeoFood temporary.
