Question

Good evening ~

My tanks id now 24 days old.

Test results:
Salinity: 36.5
PH: Ranges between 7.85 and 7.95
Temp: 79 degrees F
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate: ranges between 0.1 and 0.15 (depending on the day)

Current dosing:
1.0ml ZEOstart 2 times per day
8 Drops Sponge Power per day
8 Drop ZEObak per day

I am concerned about the phosphate level. I am feeding sparingly, and removing any uneaten food. Any suggestions on what I can do about the phosphate? Do I need to change anything?

I have been holding off on buying corals due to my phosphate levels being between 0.1 and 0.15...

Thanks for your time!

Looks like the PO4 level does not increase furthermore which is basically a good sign. You can try to adjust your skimmer to skim more wet while cleaning it daily, also as already mention a couple of posts back BioMate should also be helpful. Please also check if the reactor flow is 800 liters per hour, run the reactor with continuous flow.

Lets decrease ZeoBac to every other day instead of daily.

If the first 4 weeks have passed replace 50% of the ZeoVit material, than dose ZeoBac daily again for 10 days.

Thanks for the response Alexander. I will get some BIOMate shortly.

Okay, so now that I am approaching 4 weeks, should I do a water change? If so do I do a 10% or less?

I understand that I also need to replace 1 liter of the ZEOlites. Do I also need to swap out the KZ carbon?

Thanks.

You can now start with the 10% weekly water changes. Also replace 50% of the ZeoVit and dose ZeoBac daily for 10 days after the exchange. A couple of days later also replace the carbon.
