Triton, envy you can have such a test. What surprised me was the difference in the two sides of the test, which is really confusing. Is your potassium consumption high? In my tank, potassium consumes about 10-20 ppm a day and 400 drops to 380. You can consider KB Strong.

The two sides are "measured value" on the left, and "recommended value" on the right.

Not sure if potassium consumption is high, or if the Korallen-zucht Bio reef salt is inherently low on potassium to begin with. It definitely shouldn't be, as it's made for the Zeovit system

I have noticed that Montipora and Seriatopora are growing super slow compared to what they done before Might be due to the potassium levels.

Sure my skimmer is quite oversized, but is skimming very dry, and thus shouldn't be draining too much.

K-balance strong is a good idea. Maybe G.Alexander can comment on whether a increased dosage of K-balance will be enough, or if I should try to get ahold of K-B strong.

Make sure to not increase the K+ level to quick, lets try to dose 1 ml / 100 liters 3 or 4 x daily but make sure to keep a minimum dosing break between the additions of 2 or 3 hours otherwise your corals might respond negative.

May I ask G. KB and KB strong, Pohl's Xtra and Pohl's Xtra special, are they different in concentration? Thank you

Potassium = test kit knows the level, xtra special = the same resolution as xtra? or through suggestions on the bottle, or the appearance of the coral

Thank you! I'll make sure to have 3 hours between dosage, don't want anything to feel ill

I find it interesting that K+ can drop so "much" despite me dosing a lot of K-Balance

Will be interesting to see what difference getting it back to 380 will do!

Hi Pikent!

I'd say it depends on what it actually is dino's or diatoms, and what's feeding it.

In my case, it was that I had excess phosphates available, and no nitrates.

I dosed extra Zeostart (30% extra) and checked the flow through my zeovit reactor. It was a little low, so I adjusted and waited. It disappeared within a week or two, and I could go back to dosing the "correct" amount of Zeostart.

I still get some similar "algae" on the sand-bed, but I can control it through feeding and waterchanges.

K-Balance Strong does contain more K+ iones compared to the Standard version. XTra Special does contain some additional elements compared to the Standard version. It is recommended to use if corals are constant to light but I personally have no experience with it.

G. Thank you, Xtra special contains other elements, I thought it was just the difference in concentration, understand the meaning.

Can G. Xtra be mixed with AA or separately administered separately?

I think you can mix XTra and AAHC however I do not know the exact ingredients of the products so it might be better to dose both separate.

Today's project: Set up Zeostart3 for automatic dosing.

I should've taken pictures from the process, but I forgot

Idea: Dilute Zeostart in such a way that I can dose 0.3ml per day, 0.15ml per dose. I want to dose 10ml liquid per day, 5ml per dose. Hence I need 3% Zeostart in the solution!

I got 1L of "cleaner than medical grade" "ultra clean water"
They claim it to be 100x "cleaner" than distilled water, should work for my application

I removed 30ml from the water container, and put in 30ml of zeostart.

I then added a one way valve, and set it up to my dosing pump.

Waiting anxiously for the first "automatic dose"

If it works as it should, then great, one less thing to worry about for my 3 week vacation in 2 months time

I envy you to start using "addition of dilution start", I still add it manually.

@Get 1L "cleaner than medical grade" "ultra clean water"
@ Then I added a check valve,

it is fantastic!

-

@Do not worry about my three-week holiday in 2 months,

it is really enviable for a three-week holiday, enjoy it.

-

What brand do you choose for automatic dosing pump, thank you blackizzz

I use the Pacific Sun Kore 5th. I can say that it's not exactly perfect, but it's what I have

I really hope everything will go well, my biggest concern is if theres a long power outage. It gets cold here in the winter I will prepare for it, but Murphys law will probably make an appearance

I don't mean anything else, it's better than I have added it manually.

@The most concerned about is why if you lose power for a long time, why worry? Do not understand the factors.

I just searched for it Pacific Sun Kore 5 th Doser, it can be accurate to 0.01 ml, and an automatic mixing is perfect.

I understand that you are worried that they will become popsicles.
