Default Anemones with zeovit?

hi all, havent heard anything about anemones in low nutrient systems, will they be ok? anything to avoid? looking at getting a bubbletip and a carpet. does the system still have to be very mature before introducing them like a normal system or can you introduce them early like you can with the fish?
thanks

Hi Jase, personally I have no experience with anemons but some of my friends keep several bubble Tipp anemons in their full zeovit system without problems. Hopefully others will jump in with their experiences.

I have a Rose Bubble Tip anemone for over 1yr now and it has grown huge! I wish it would split but some say they split under stress.... so I guess it's not stressed.

No problems with RBTA & the ZEOvit system here.

I have kept the same anenome in my tank for the past 12 years. Following a change to the zeovit system 4 months ago it has never looked better. It's around 60cm in diameter.

My RBTA receded to almost nothing when I started the Zeovit system.
I started with ZEO in 02/10 and the anemone is still receded!
Any ideas out there as to why this has happened?
Is there something that I should be adding as far as blue bottles?
I dose the 4 basics plus Xtra, B-bal., CS, CV, and AALPS.

I feed them nothing since being on ZEO.
I didn't think I needed to target feed while on ZEO.
This was not a gradual thing - within a day or 2 after starting ZEO - they receded/shrinked.

i'm sure you already know they do receed every now and then when they need to empty their bowels. Iv'e always fed mine, i don't directly feed it all i do is insert half a silver fish and the maroon female grabs it and feeds the nem for me but if i this didn't happen then i would target feed once a week.

This is constant recession since starting ZEO. I don't think it is a feeding issue?

they can also shrink if in too much flow, it might move eventually! How long has it been in it's current location?

Have you moved the pumps?

if i was you i'd try a little feed to the tenticles see if it sticks and feeds it's self. How is it's mouth? Open / Closed / slightly open?

I will try feeding it tonight - will let you know if the anemone reacts positively.

I am concerned that it is a blue bottle issue though?
