I'm using live sand I know that's not recommended too should I consider replacing this?

Wait and see what the gurus have to say, but in the meantime...

Are you running a zeovit reactor? How many litres of stones are you using? What is the flow rate through the reactor?

Also, I would stop dosing the zeofood. This is for later when the system needs the nutrients. It used to be used with the old zeostart recipe, but is now not really needed until later.

I would also increase your dose of zeostart3 to 0.1ml twice a day (so 0.2ml/day total)

Hey, I'm not using a reactor just a media bag in a high flow area. Using 200ml of stones roughly not sure of the flow rate through the area though. Will cut the zeo food and dose zeo start like you said thanks very much

Have you used ZeoVit on your system from the beginning or started later – if alter when exactly ? Has the tank had high nutrients before you have started using ZeoVit already ? How many fish do you keep and what exactly is their size. Would also be interesting how deep your sand bed is.

Thanks for the welcome I started using zeo about 4 months into the tank being setup. Yes tank had high nutrients before I started running zeo. I have two average sized perc clowns a scooter blenny and three green chromis. All about 3 inches. Sand bed is about an inch deep

That sounds good, would be important to know the source of the nutrients. Do you know if the rocks you have used leached the PO4 ?

A PO4 level of 1 mg is massive and it will take a long time before you will get this under control so I would personally think of replacing the rocks step by step with good quality live rock and later the sand.

Your dosing regimen is not optimal also, would recommend to continue as follows:

ZeoStart 0.1 ml 2 x daily
ZeoBac – 1 drop every other day
SpongePower – 1 drop daily

Stop dosing ZeoFood at the moment, if you like to you can continue to dose CoralSnow as you already do.

Also run 0.1 liter activate carbon passively flown and replace it every 30 day.

It might also be helpful to dose 2 drops BioMate daily for some time.

Run 0.25 liters ZeoVit in a reactor with a flow of 100 liters per hour (continuous). Replace the material every 6 weeks.

Make sure to adjust your skimmer to skim wet and clean it regular daily to export as much as possible.

As mention before it will take a long time to reduce PO4. As long as there are no SPS corals in the system using some PO4 absorber until PO4 I sunder control is another alternative.

Once you add SPS corals you should make sure to keep the basic water parameters within the following ranges:

KH 6.5 – 7.5
Ca 400 – 420 mg
Mg 1250 – 1300 mg
K+ ~ 380 mg

I took the zeo out and put rowa phos in I've gone from over 3 to 0.26 ppm. Does your dosing still apply to these levels? Also can you tell me if it's safe to add the zeolites to the same reactor if I separate them with a sponge?

You can keep the dosage as it is but what is the reason for removing the ZeoVit ?
