My tank spec
Hi here's my spec
1.gross water volume 170ltr
2.net water volume estimate 120-130ltr
3.no calcium realtor
4.no po4 reactor
5.no ozone
6.no uv
7.using deltec sc1351 skimmer
8.po4 is 0 no3 is 2
9.ca is 450 mg is 1480 all is 7.7dkh
10.filtration is skimming and filter sock
11.lighting is a kessil160we
12.1 small tourch coral
13.tissue colour seems ok
14.tank was running 6months but under gin rapid changes last 2months in preparation for zeovit
15.i want to use zeovit as I have run normal reef tanks in past with refugium etc but find colours not always great and always run into nutrient issues.and zeovit corals look amazing!!
16.no supplements being dosed
17.i have around 30-40kg live rock
18.had dinos nov2016.managed to eradicate by scrubbing rocks syponing sand everyday and water changes every day.not seen any since!
19.only problems are micro bubbles,I believe it is due to the skimmer not being able to hold foam at the moment,I think it is due to the clean water I have turned the skimmer down.also I used to have like rock in sump and now only have zeovit reactor and skimmer,so there is less of a buffer between return pump
20.test kits are Red Sea apart from po4 is salifert
21.start dose of 250g of zeolite 5ml of zeobak 10ml of zeostart3
2day break
Then dose as bottles say,1drop zeo bak 2xweek zeostart 0.20ml daily
Please advise me correct dosing if this dosing is wrong
22.salinity is 0.025 or 35ppt temp 25c
23.i was using redsea coral pro(black bucket)but over last few months been using redsea blue bucket to get more to nsw in preparation for zeovit

Thanks for taking a look[emoji106]would be great if you could advise on dosing measurements and schedule and any other thing which you recommend

Have you already started with the high initial dosage and are there other animals like fish in the system already beside the one coral ?

If the coral is the only animal are you able to keep it in a different system for 2 weeks ?

Dzeo 01-16-2017 02:17 AM

I have 2 clowns and yellow tang(all small)I can remove the tourch, but not sure bout catching and moving fish, yes I have started with high initial dose then will use 2drop zeo back daily for 2 weeks 0.20ml zeo start daily
After 2 weeks 1-2 drops every 2-3days and 0.20ml zeo start daily,I have zeofood but have not dosed was going to dose when I stock sps.

The initial high dosage can just be used for systems which are fresh, not containing animals hope you will not get into trouble with it now but also nothing you can do so keep it as it is.

After the high initial dosage do a dosing break of a couple of days, than continue as follows:

ZeoBac – 1 drop daily until day 14, than 1 drop 3 x weekly
ZeoStart – 0.13 ml 2 x daily
SpongePower – 1 drop daily

Run 100 ml activated carbon passively flown and 0.3 liters with constant water flow of ~ 120 liters per hour through the reactor.

Sounds good, would recommend you to replace 90% of the zeovit material if the first 4 weeks have passed, than dose ZeoBac daily for 10 days.

Hi all!got a update,it's been 15days since starting zeovit I had a diatom bloom which lasted bout a week but all gone now,I've had massive coralline algae growth water looks great.
So my kh and mg has dropped a lot my no3 has remained at 5,I don't dose and rely on water changes weekly to maintain water chemistry, berms as I'm only 15 days in is it to early to do a water change as I believe I should not do water Chang until 4weeks same time as zeo stone change and carbon?i have not stocked any sps yet as was gonna wait until week4 after stone change.gonna stop dosing zeobak every day and just do 2drops weekly until week 4 zeostart dosing to remain the same
Thanks all [emoji106]

It would not hurt to start with the weekly water changes now. Would recommend to not replace the carbon and the Zeovit on the same day, after 4 weeks replace the ZeoVit material and a week later the carbon.

Later if you keep SPS corals it might also be good to know the K+ level (potassium).

Thanks for reply g[emoji106]so I'm going to begin 25ltr weekly water changes I do have a k+ test kit but haven't used yet, gonna wait until stone change then gonna stock my tank with sps can't wait to see how they do hopefully great!just wondering about heating carbon as I've never done that before do u just boil rodi water in kettle then pour it over?
Thanks for your help g[emoji120]

Hi guys n gals, update for u all!i changed stones yesterday,25ltr weekly water change no3still around 5,but added my first sps today!i dipped them and loads of pests came of including big claw crab!!Also I had a stow away looks like some kind of blenny maybe some one could I'd?sps polyps started to show after bout 30min of adding to tank I've got some white stringy bits coming from them but think is just down to the dip,I'm getting diatoms in sand started after 14day zeobak daily dosing stoped when I started 2drops a week, could it be the drop in zeobak led to less computation alowing them to grow again?
Also purchased coral snow and k balance, any dosing regime apricieated[emoji106]

What is the actual K+ level of this system and do you like to treat any kind of algae / cyanos with CoralSnow ?
